Frequently Asked Questions...
Need help with locking my bedroom door!?
My room is the only room who's door doesn't have a key. How can I change this? I'm so sick of the lack of privacy!!!
At the minute I have a regular door handle with a keyhole, but unfortunately, no key. So I've been looking at this from Wilkinson's which is pretty cheap..

But I just want to know, it says it includes screws and spindles, but no key for the lock?! So where do I get that from?
And, how do I correctly fit this so it locks properly? Please help!
Answer:
Every new doorknob set that has a keyhole comes with one or two keys, even if it is not mentioned in the description. That's not the problem. The important thing is to make sure the new doorknob set will exactly fit into the holes left by the old old one. There are two holes to be concerned with. One goes through the door from inside to outside and the other goes sidways through the edge of the door so that the latch mechanism reaches the opening mechanism on one end and the door jamb on the other end. The easyest way to make sure the new one will slip right in is to take the old doorknob set out and take it to the hardware store so you can show it to the clerk. That person will be able to sell you a replacement that is sure to fit. Take with you a measurement of the thickness of the door.
